Enquire About This TileCeramic wall tiles · Export supply
Lighter-bodied glazed wall tiles are made in large volumes in India, usually in coordinated sets of plain, decor and highlighter designs. We supply distributors and project buyers with suitable ranges from our manufacturing partners and confirm every detail before ordering.
The material
A ceramic wall tile is a glazed tile with a more porous body than porcelain — under ISO 13006 most belong to group BIII, with water absorption above 10%. The porous body makes the tile lighter and easier to cut and fix to walls, while the glaze provides the waterproof, easy-clean surface.
Because the body is softer and more absorbent, ceramic wall tiles are designed for interior walls, not floors. In India they are typically sold as coordinated series: a light “plain” tile, a darker or patterned “decor”, and a “highlighter” piece for accents — often with a matching floor tile in a separate body.
For export, the questions that matter most are dimensional consistency (so joints line up across a wall), glaze quality, shade matching between plain and decor tiles, and packing strong enough to protect a lighter body in transit.

Formats & finishes
Wall tiles are typically produced in rectangular formats sized for easy handling on site. Smaller decorative and subway-style formats may be available from selected manufacturers.
Nominal sizes in millimetres. 75 × 300 mm is shown as a subway-style example.
Specification checklist
Wall tiles are less technically demanding than floor tiles, but dimensional accuracy and shade matching are visible on every wall.
| Specification | Why it matters | Typical / status |
|---|---|---|
| Water absorption | Ceramic wall tiles are porous by design (often above 10%); confirms the body type. | Typically > 10% (BIII); product value to be confirmed |
| Dimensional tolerance | Joint lines must stay straight across a full wall. | To be confirmed |
| Warpage | Bowed tiles leave lippage and uneven reflections in glossy glazes. | To be confirmed |
| Shade match: plain vs decor | Series tiles must coordinate across boxes and batches. | To be confirmed |
| Glaze quality | Check for crazing, pinholes and print alignment. | To be confirmed |
| Thickness | Affects weight per box and fixing method. | To be confirmed |
| Packing and pieces per box | A lighter body needs good corner and edge protection. | To be confirmed |
| MOQ and lead time | Often set per series rather than per tile. | To be confirmed |

FAQ
Generally no. Ceramic wall tiles have a softer, more porous body and are designed for walls. For floors, choose porcelain or glazed vitrified tiles with a finish suited to the area.
Common formats include 250 × 375, 300 × 450 and 300 × 600 mm. Larger and smaller decorative formats are produced by some manufacturers. We confirm the sizes available for each series at quotation.
Wall tile series in India are often sold as a set: a plain tile for most of the wall, a decor tile with a stronger pattern, and a highlighter tile used as an accent band or panel. Tell us the ratio you need so we can plan quantities across the series.
Yes. Different designs and categories, including tiles from different partner factories, can be combined in one container, subject to minimum quantities and packing. We confirm the loading plan when we quote.
